Our Story

Adam Lucianos is the Founder and Executive Director of Barber on a Mission Inc., a nonprofit organization dedicated to blessing those less fortunate with a complimentary haircut. With over 30 years of experience in the field of cosmetology and the barbering industry, Adam has always been passionate about exposing the true beauty in people through haircuts.

When he was a young boy in the 90’s, Adam would cut his brother’s, sister’s, and friends' hair on one side of his mother’s kitchen, or outside on the porch, or by making house calls to those that couldn’t make it to him. Growing up with financial struggles he saw a need to still look good, because looking good makes you feel good, and when you feel good, it makes things much better. 

Adam holds a cosmetology hairdressing and barber license in the state of Connecticut from Bullard-Havens Technical School. He continued to study under L’Oréal professionals, with many years and long hours perfecting his skills in men’s, women’s, and children’s haircuts combined with the art of customer service. His academic background, coupled with his professional experience, has equipped him with the necessary skills and knowledge to lead Barber on a Mission and make a significant impact in helping people, one haircut at a time.

Before founding Barber on a Mission, Adam has been working at and is one of the owners of Salon Dolce Inc., where he has the opportunity to build and work with some amazing individuals to serve our community with barbering and beauty services. This experience further fueled his desire to contribute to needs of self-care and hygiene, leading him to establish this organization.

Under Adam’s leadership, Barber on a Mission has donated thousands of free haircuts, products and much more. He is committed to ensuring that the organization continues to make strides in inspiring other barbers, hairdressers, and any other professional technicians in the industry to partner up with us to make a difference in improving lives, and creating a better future.

Adam is a frequent speaker at conferences, community events, high schools, churches, and missionary trips. 

In his spare time, Adam enjoys rock climbing, painting, hiking, trying new activities and adventures. He believes that with faith and showing respect and kindness to one another, we are able to enjoy all the beautiful things in this world and that tomorrow will be ok.

Adam’s dedication and passion for Barber on a Mission are evident in his work. He continues to lead the organization with a vision of creating a positive impact and making a difference in the lives of those who need it most.
